Prepare-A-Palooza: Empowering Everyone to Stay Safe and Prepared

After the recent ice storm that affected many in Lane County, there was a strong desire to be better prepared for emergencies. Prepare-A-Palooza was the perfect opportunity for community members to engage with emergency preparedness in a fun and safe environment, helping them feel empowered for future emergencies. The event, themed “Don’t be scared, be prepared,” welcomed everyone while tailoring information to people with disabilities, ensuring accessibility. An estimated 250 people attended, showing the community’s eagerness to feel capable and ready in emergencies.

Prepare-A-Palooza was more than just informative—it was exciting! Attendees got to pick up emergency preparedness swag, listen to engaging speakers, and explore booths with local resources. With 20 booths featuring a mix of companies that specialize in working with people with disabilities and emergency preparedness, the event aimed to empower everyone to feel confident and prepared.
